Hands touch the forehead,
Eyes gaze up in betrayal,
To live is to hope.
Hope you guys enjoyed this haiku! It was inspired by Ronavan Hester’s Haiku Prompt Challenge. One of the first haikus I’ve written in years, and definitely won’t be the last.
I read somewhere that it is the gap between two ideas– the “kire” or “cutting”– in a haiku that leave the reader in contemplation. I love this thought because a piece is always an active transaction between the writer and reader. And every reader will interpret the writing in his/her own way.
While reading this poem, and any creative piece, please feel free to interpret the words in any light you choose! ❤
Really interesting. Thank you
