Blocked by a boulder on its opened side, the cave welcomed no light- its interior was cold, lifeless, and dark, with the only inhabitant being a pale young man who huddled in the corner and rocked himself to sleep every night.
That night, a storm ravaged the surrounding Alaskan wilderness, and formed a deep crack in the cave.
The following morning, the man peered through the crack and squinted against the brightness- despite his burning eyes, he could not stop staring at the beauty of the world.
Inspired by Sonya’s Three Line Tales Week Forty photo prompt. Amazingly thought-provoking photo as always 🙂
