The kaleidoscope bursts
in unknown
sounds that bounce
off burgundy
walls
entrap
familiar voices
bring her back
to hellos tinged with
bittersweet
chocolate melts on her
tongue
that feels foreign
in a familiar land
like the hard, cold pillow
made of uncooked rice
placed by a warm hand
that bleeds a crimson
same hue
as her own, as
the blood
stains
on the wall, still
echoing sounds
low, mellow,
soft
goodbyes
asking in fruitless circles
when
will you be
back
miss me
I do
already.
Hope you guys enjoy 🙂
And as per usual, please leave some lovely comments and critique ❤
Is this a direct Sappho influence?! I was struck by the title and the fragmentary lines of the last three stanzas!

Not in particular…although Sweet Bitter is the title of a Sapphic poem!
