Temporary Sin

Like a slow motion car crash,

I want to feel the blood gush

from your legs, drip onto my open

palms, sting the delicate skin,

Would it be a sin?

to drink you– in steady pace

just one night,

then forget the shade of those

chocolate eyes,

Can i sleep in one chamber

of your heart?

and leave you in the morning

before you see too far

into mine?

We’ll be vagabonds

stumbling through rooms,

saying bye too soon,

afraid of becoming

transparent. i want to be as opaque

as those solar ecclipse glasses

so your light won’t leave me

permanently blinded.

Post-slow motion car crash,

i want to pick up our broken bones,

pretend their mismatched edges match,

and feel whole.
