Last Sprint

The last few minutes of a basketball game can turn losers into champions. Runners are always advised to save a little for the final leg. The tortoise won the race because he did not stop. Sometimes, I imagine life as a long run, and to fully enjoy oneself, one must learn to love the m

onotony, pain, mental grind. What are goals, but constructed distances to complete– can anyone be satisfied after completion of the first one? After the first pistachio, do you always eat a second?

Recently, I have been trying to believe in fate. It makes living just a little less stressful. To survive a rip current in the ocean, it is advised that you swim with it, not against. But what if I want to do more than survive? The laws of physics states that for every action there is a reaction. So

if I do nothing, I will not die. But will I really live or simply exist?

Everyone does things to escape reality. Perhaps that is the wrong approach. I think reality should be embraced with open arms, even if that means bruises on exposed skin.

I never understood why crossed arms are intimidating. It feels the most secure, creating a crevice within

your body, extra stabilization for the heart. Arms by the side is vulnerable. All of you is exposed, and your hands cannot help but want stability. When someone crosses their arms, it means they are afraid and uncertain.

I have been trying to cross my arms less. But I always eat that second, third, fourth pistachio. I wonder if I am approaching life in an acute angle. But then again, we are all such small entities compared to Earth, so isn’t everyone?

A free-form rambling essay. Hope it stimulates your neurons and provides some food for thought!

  1. Looks like my serotonin levels are at its prime after reading this fascinating insight from you ^^ Most people fail at whatever they attempt because of an undecided heart. Should I? Should I not? Go forward? Go back? Success requires the emotional balance of a committed heart. When confronted with a challenge, the committed heart will search for a solution. The undecided heart searches for an escape. A committed heart does not wait for conditions to be exactly right. Why? Because conditions are never exactly right. 🙂
PS- Your take on crossed arms was just superb 🙂
